Vera Rubin

Vera Rubin was a brilliant astronomer who helped discover something really mysterious called dark matter—a type of invisible stuff in space that helps hold galaxies together.

She was born in 1928 in Philadelphia and loved looking at the stars from a young age. Even though it was hard for women to become scientists back then, she worked very hard and became one of the most important astronomers in the world.

Vera noticed that stars in galaxies moved in strange ways—faster than they should! This helped prove that something invisible, called dark matter, must be out there.

She also stood up for women in science and inspired many girls to follow their dreams. A giant telescope was even named after her—the Vera C. Rubin Observatory!

These book series were the best gifts for our daughters. They loved reading about space and Vera Rubin and how she was a pioneer in her field. We can't wait to read more of these book series.

I purchased these books for our 6 and 8 year olds as a way to inspire them to both read and think about their future. Im very happy with how much they are enjoying them.
